Tanya Cavanagh has been involved in the day she could walk, talk & hit pots & pans. On spending a day with her, it's evident that here is an artist who is infinitely passionmusic industry since theate about her craft.

Her interest in drumming was first recognized by her Mother at age two when she disappeared during a street parade, to be spotted later mesmerized by a group of Scottish drummers. What followed was a succession of episodes where Tanya explored the art of banging pots and pans and air drumming to her favorite tunes. Young habits die hard, and at age eight, she undertook her first drum lesson, which led to guest appearances in her Mothers band!

After establishing herself as a drummer, Tanya further extended her musical ability on guitar & vocals. She utilized these tools to experiment and explore the world of composition, which prepared her for her studies at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School of Music, where she majored in orchestral percussion, with secondary studies in piano, voice and composition.

Fast-forward to 2005 and Tanya is already living a musicians dream, earning a living entirely from music and successfully avoiding a day job!

Tanya has developed a reputation as one of Australia's leading drummers. She has played alongside internationals such as Branford Marsalis & Kenny Kirkland (Sting's band), and in previous outfits has supported Joan Jett, The Divinyls, the Tea Party and Wilson Pickett...she has also performed with Circus Oz, David Jones DRUM! and Bachelor Girl and still regularly performs with classic 70's rock act, Mother and corporate outfit, Girl Mansion. She is a gifted songwriter, a dynamic drummer and performer, and in Blussh shares lead and backing vocals with Shane!

The other half of Blussh is Shane McKay  - a sought after session guitarist/ vocalist, having played with the cream of the crop in the industry. He has been performing in various cover acts while developing his prolific songwriting, arranging & producing skills. Shane produced all the tracks of the Blussh EP and features on guitar and vocals in the Blussh line up.

He began his humble beginnings on a guitar fret board at the age of 12. Destroying any peace and quiet in the country with his colourful array of new found guitar licks, he decided a 4 track was the way to go, and started recording his own songs & guitar instrumentals before joining the world of cover bands at 16.

This boy was hungry to rock!!!, loved his guitar and loved to play it loud!!. He made the move to Melbourne at 18, and busted some doors to land good bands and great gigs.

Fast forward to 2005, and Shane has become quite the consummate guitarist/vocalist/songwriter & producer. Earning a living this way (also avoiding a day job!), he is no slouch when it comes to creating a good tune. Here is a musician passionate and committed to all that he does (not a bad golfer either!) with a healthy obsession for writing good lyrics and infectious vocal harmonies.

You’ll find Shane permanently attached to his producers’ chair, with guitar in hand, agonizing over which part of a song to keep. This boy from Ballarat will leave no stone unturned in the quest for stirring the senses with what’s good in a song!
